Course Instructors:
Dr. Brent Corkum is the Chief Technology Officer for Rocscience and the primary architect of many of the Rocscience products including Slide2 and Slide3 and has been with Rocscience since its inception in 1997. Dr. Corkum graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering in 1984, a M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1986 and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 1996. He has over 35 years of software development experience and has helped write successful commercial applications in limit-equilibrium slope stability, finite-element analysis, boundary element analysis, wedge analysis, toppling analysis, stereographic projection, settlement, and rockfall modeling.
Dr. Sina Javankhoshdel is a Geomechanics Product Manager (Product Manager of Slide2 and Slide3) at Rocscience. He holds his Ph.D. from Queen’s University in Civil Engineering (Geomechanics), joined Rocscience in 2016 and has done research and development work on Slide2 and Slide3. He has been the 3D Expert Modeller at Rocscience since 2018. Dr. Javankhoshdel is an instructor for workshops, webinars, short courses and customized courses, and a presenter at conferences.
