Export Dataset
After a Probabilistic Analysis, the following data can be plotted on Histogram Plot, Cumulative Plot, or Scatter Plot.
The Export Dataset option in the Statistics menu allows the user to export raw data from a Probabilistic Analysis, to the clipboard, a file, or to Excel.
Data
All available data from the analysis is initially selected for export. If you do NOT wish to export a given dataset, clear the corresponding check box before exporting. See the Data Type topic for more information about Probabilistic Analysis data.
Copy
To copy the selected datasets to the Windows clipboard:
- Select the Copy button.
- From the clipboard, the data can be pasted into other applications for further analysis or reports.
Save
To save the selected datasets to a file:
- Select the Save button to save the selected datasets to a file.
- The Save As dialog will allow you to save the data in one of 3 different text file formats:
- A tab delimited text file (*.txt)
- A comma separated values (CSV) text file (*.csv)
- A space delimited text file (*.prn)
The 3 different formats are all plain ASCII text files, with different methods of delimiting the data in each row of the file.
Excel
To export the data to Microsoft Excel:
- Select the Excel button to export the data to Microsoft Excel.
- If you have the Excel program on your computer, Excel will automatically be launched, and the exported data will appear in a new Excel document.
