Planar Sliding (No Limits)
The Planar Sliding (No Limits) Kinematic Analysis option in the Sidebar is simply a shortcut to the Planar Sliding option, with no lateral limits. See the Planar Sliding topic for complete details.
When the lateral limits are turned off, the entire daylight region is considered kinematically valid, as shown below for pole vectors and dip vectors. The dip vector sliding analysis (with no lateral limits) is sometimes referred to as the Markland Test and is also used for Wedge Sliding analysis.

Markland Test
The dip vector Planar Sliding analysis with no lateral limits is sometimes referred to as the Markland Test and is also used for Wedge Sliding analysis. The critical Planar Sliding zone for dip vectors (with no lateral limit) is also the primary critical zone for intersections for Wedge Sliding analysis.
