View Templates
The View Templates feature allows you to efficiently save and load Plot Options to and from any Stereonet Plot View on your local machine.
Save Template
To save the Plot Options of the current active Stereonet Plot View:
- Select Save Template from the View menu.
- Specify a View Template Name in the Add View Template dialog. Otherwise, a default name "New View Template (1, 2, 3, ...)" is automatically populated. Select OK to save the template.
The View Template Name can be renamed later, if needed. A maximum of ten View Templates can be saved onto your local machine at any given time.
Load Template
To load a previously saved View Template from your local machine to the current active Stereonet Plot View:
- Select Load Template submenu from the View menu. You will see a list of previously saved View Templates to select from.
- Selecting on an enabled View Template will instantaneously update the Plot Options in the current active Stereonet Plot View.
View Template Manager Dialog
The View Template Manager dialog shows a list of View Templates available on your local machine and options to Rename and Delete View Templates that were previously saved. View Templates can also be imported or exported as a . dipsvt file. The Import or Export feature is convenient for sharing View Templates across different machines. When a View Template is imported, the Plot Options in the current active view is automatically updated to the imported View Template.
To manage View Templates on your local machine:
- Ensure Stereonet Plot View is the active view
- Select Manage Templates from the Load Templates sub menu of the View menu.
- The View Template Manager dialog will appear allowing you select a View Template from the list.
- To rename the View Template, select the Rename button. Specify a View Template Name in the Add View Template dialog.
- To delete the View Template, select the Delete button.
- To Import a . dipsvt View Template file, select Import option. An Open dialog will appear allowing you to specify the directory and filename. The newly imported View Template will appear in the list of View Templates.
- To Export a . dipsvt View Template file, select a View Template from the list of View Templates, and select Export option . A standard Save As dialog will appear allowing you to specify the directory and filename.
