Define Material Properties

To define your material (e.g. rock) properties:

  1. Select the Geology geometry workflow tab.
  2. Select Define Materials Define Materials from the toolbar or the Materials menu.
  3. By default, there is one material 'Host Rock'. In EX3, the host rock is the material that defines the surrounding material property of the excavation. it is assumed to be infinite in space unless Ground Surface has been assigned in the geometry.
  4. Users can define different material properties by selecting the Add button to define the number of required material types. See the following topic for details on the required parameters for material properties: Stiffness Properties

Properties can also be imported from other EX3 files or RS2 files, using the Import Properties option. Data columns in the material properties can also be copied/pasted to excel or text file.
