Overview of Barriers

Barriers in RocFall3 are used to stop falling rocks or absorb some of their energy as they travel down the slope. They can be placed anywhere along the surface of the model.

When adding barriers, you can either input custom barrier properties or select them from a pre-defined list in the Barrier Design Library. There is no limit to the number of barriers that can be placed. However, barriers cannot cross other barriers and cannot cross slope segments.

Barrier Results

RocFall3 allows the users to create charts pertaining to several different parameters (Impact Energy, Impact Velocity, Impact Height). You can view these parameters using the Graph Barriers tool.
