Point Load Statistics

If you are carrying out a Probabilistic Analysis, the Force Magnitude of a Point Load can be defined as a Random Variable.

To assign the Force Magnitude as a Random Variable:

  1. Ensure the Analysis Type is set to Probabilistic in Project Settings.
  2. Select Loading > Define Loads > Point add line load icon
  3. In the Define Point Loads dialog, select the Add Single Row icon to add a row of data to the dialog.

  4. Select the Statistical Distributions icon distribution icon next to the Force Magnitude value.
  5. The Statistical Distribution popup window will appear. Select the desired distribution and enter the required details. Select OK to close the popup.
  6. Select OK in the Define Point Loads dialog to apply the Point Load with the Random Variable.
