RocSlope2 Overview
RocSlope2 provides a single user-friendly platform where all three kinematically admissible failures (Wedge, Planar and Toppling) can be analyzed at once.
Rock Slope Stability Analysis
RocSlope2 provides a comprehensive analysis of 3D blocks with structurally controlled failure (e.g., faults, joints, bedding) with an integrated Stereonet View to visualize 3D orientation data. Consider the influence of external forces such as point loads, pressure loads, pseudo-static seismic loads and water pressure on the stability of rock slopes and obtain factors of safety for multiple blocks. Deterministic and Probabilistic Analysis options allow users full control of variability in each unique project.
Probabilistic Analysis
RocSlope2's extensive Probabilistic Analysis feature allows users to define almost all model input parameters as random variables and create thousands of different wedge, planar and toppling models all at once, then determine the probability of failure of all failure modes. Statistical Distributions can be applied to input data to account for parameter uncertainty, such as a variety of Slope, Joint, and Loading parameters.
Sensitivity Analysis
A thorough single or multi variable Sensitivity Analysis can be carried out to determine the effect of individual variables on the Factor of Safety for a particular block in RocSlope2, with results visualized in a customizable chart.
Support System Design
RocSlope2 considers stability across three analysis methods for precise failure prediction. Using automatic Bolt Pattern locating, customized Spot Bolts, and Shotcrete application, users can quickly design support systems that account for multiple failure modes.
Bench Design
Assess the stability of benches susceptible to Planar, Wedge, or Toppling failure using RocSlope2’s Bench Design and interpret Bench Design Results according to Quantitative hazard analysis (QHA) as an extension of the Probabilistic Analysis feature. Assuming either a fixed bench width or fixed inter-ramp angle, you can input the design parameters and statistical joint information to optimize the bench slope angle according to design constraints.
Water Pressure
Water Pressure can be added to RocSlope2 analysis models with ease using the Ponded Water and Joint Water Pressure tools. Users can define Joint Water Pressure by using custom Phreatic Surface polylines, setting an elevation value, or enabling a custom water pressure.
Result Visualization
The Results Grid feature allows users to view detailed information on all of the valid blocks from each analysis method, as well as navigate and view different blocks within each model. Customize model views using Force Diagrams and Water Contours tools to highlight the location of forces in an analysis. Users can also take their results a step further using the Charts to visualize and export data in histogram, cumulative, or scatter plots.
Program Integrations
Using the different Import options, RocSlope2 allows users to read project files from the original Wedge, Planar, and Toppling analysis programs created by Rocscience. Additionally, users can import joint orientation information from Dips to streamline the data input process. Once a project's results are finalized, users can export 3D Geometry files from RocSlope2 to be used with other 3D programs.
