Compute

The RocSlope2 analysis is automatically computed every time:

This ensures that the latest analysis results are always presented in the Results Grid and Results Details, all RocSlope2 models (Wedge, Planar, and Toppling models), and all views (Stereonet View, Charts, 2D and 3D Views etc.).

Geometry Validation

RocSlope2 always checks if the block geometry is valid, before proceeding to calculate a Safety Factor for a given block. If the orientation of the Joint planes, Slope planes and Tension Crack (if present) do not form a kinematically admissible block (i.e. a block which can be removed from the slope for an analysis method), then you will see the message "No Block Formed" displayed in the respective Analysis Window, and the analysis will not be computed.

Wedge Analysis Validation

Goodman and Shi's Block Theory is used to determine the validity of a block.

Planar Analysis Validation

If no planar joints are present due to the sliding lateral limit, then no blocks are formed.

Toppling Analysis Validation

There are limitations to flexural block analysis and block toppling analysis. They are listed in their respective manuals.
