Import from ShapeMetriX
Measured joint data (or measured orientation, location, and size data) can be imported from a ShapeMetriX structural mapping file (.3gdps) to define the Dip and Dip Directions, location and size (or orientation, location, and size) in the Define Measured Joints dialog.
Rocscience's 3GSM software ShapeMetriX is a comprehensive software suite designed for geologic mapping and geometric analysis, equipped with an advanced 3D model generator. It is ideal for creating 3D models of rock surfaces, rock slopes, tunnel faces and walls, etc. using digital imagery or by importing 3D datasets (E57 laser scanner or OBJ data) and performing fast, detailed, non-contact geological mapping and geometric assessment. To import joint data from a ShapeMetriX file:
- Select Import ShapeMetriX button from the Define Measured Joints dialog.
- In the Open file dialog, select the ShapeMetriX structural mapping file (.3gdps) and click Open to load the file.
The joint property is not imported; rather, a default joint property is assigned to each joint using the first joint property in the list.
To see an example of this import process, see Tutorial 11 - ShapeMetriX Integration.
