Define Joint Property Statistics

In order to define Joint Properties as Random Variables:

  1. Select: Statistics > Define Joint Statistics Define Joint Statistics icon
  2. This will display the Joint Property Statistics dialog.
  3. The Joint Property Statistics dialog can also be accessed by opening the Define Joint Properties dialog and selecting the Statistics button.
  4. Choose the Joint Property that you wish to define with Random Variable(s) from the listed Joint Properties.
  5. For the selected Joint Property:
    • Click the Add button to add random variables.
    • Select the row(s) and click Delete button to delete random variables.
  6. In the Add Random Variables dialog:
    • Select any parameters that you wish to set as a Random Variable.
    • Select the Distribution (e.g., Normal, Uniform, Triangular, Beta, Exponential, Lognormal, Gamma) for the selected Random Variables.
    • Click OK to add then to the selected Joint Property.
  7. The Distribution and Mean values can be modified for any Property.
  8. To finish defining the Random Variable(s), set the Std. Dev. (if applicable) and Rel. Min. and/or Rel. Max. to non-zero values for all Properties.
  9. Rel. Min. and Rel. Max. are relative to the Mean and are not the absolute range values. The absolute range is (Mean - Rel. Min.) to (Mean + Rel. Max.)
  10. Click OK to save the changes.
