Import Queries
The Import Queries option allows you to import material queries from one RS2 file to another RS2 file.
To import queries:
- Select Import Queries from the Import sub-menu of the File menu.
- You will see an Open File dialog. Queries can be imported from the following file types (see below for details):
- .fez
- .p2i
- .pvf
- .csv
- Open the desired file, and all queries contained in the file will be imported into the current RS2 file.
File Types for Query Import
Material queries can be imported from the following RS2 file types:
- .fez - a .fez file is a zipped (compressed) file which contains all RS2 model and analysis data. Since Phase2/RS2 version 7, the .fez file also contains auxiliary files such as the .p2i file used to store drawing tools, queries, display settings and other information. When you import queries from a .fez file, you are actually importing the queries from a .p2i file contained within the .fez file.
- .p2i - this is the extension used for settings files created in the RS2 Interpret program. A .p2i file is used to store drawing tools, queries, display settings and other information. If you save your RS2 files using the compressed (.fez) file format, then normally you will not see the .p2i files, since they are contained within the .fez file. If you save your RS2 files in uncompressed (.fea) format, then the .p2i files will be visible in your file directory. A .p2i file can also be created with the Export Queries option.
- .pvf - Phase2 points value file, used to save queries in Phase2 version 6
- .csv - comma separated values file
NOTE: the Import Queries option replaces the Read Query File option which was used in Phase2 version 6 and earlier versions.
