Bolts Overview

Adding Bolts

Bolts are added to a model using either the Add Bolt Pattern option or the Add Bolt option. They can also be added from a DXF file. The added bolts can be edited with the Edit Bolt option.

Bolt Properties

Bolt properties are defined with the Define Bolts option, and then assigned to the bolts with the Assign Properties option.

The following bolt models are available in RS2:

Bolt Staging

The staging sequence of bolt installation for a multi-stage model can be specified when bolts are initially added (Add Bolt Pattern or Add Bolt), by entering the install stage in the Add Bolt dialog.

If the bolts are not initially installed at the desired stage, the staging can be changed at any later time using the Assign option. A complete discussion of assigning bolt properties and staging is found in the Assign Bolts topic.
