Assign Liner Properties
If liners are added to a model, in general it will be necessary for the user to assign the desired liner properties and / or installation sequence (staging) to the liners. (Default properties and staging are automatically assigned by RS2 if the user takes no action).
There are three ways in which the assigning of liner properties and staging can be achieved:
- When adding liners - when liners are initially added to a model (using the Add Liner option), you can select the Liner Property type and the Install / Remove stages in the dialog which appears before you add the liner to the model.
- Assign Properties dialog - at any time after liners have been added to a model, you can use the Assign Properties dialog (available in the toolbar or the Properties menu) to assign liner properties and staging. See below for details.
- Right-click shortcut - assigning properties can also be achieved with a convenient right-click shortcut. If you right-click directly on a liner (i.e. on a boundary segment which has had a liner applied), the popup menu will provide shortcuts to assign properties, and install / remove the liner at the currently selected stage. The right-click shortcut can only be used on one boundary segment at a time.
NOTE: liners can only be added to the model and assigned if the finite element mesh exists.
Liners are assigned properties and staged in exactly the same manner as bolts. See the Assign Bolts topic for detailed information. However, note the following about liner selection.
Liner Selection
When you are selecting liners for assignment, you are actually selecting the boundary line segments (Excavation, Stage, Material or External) to which the liner has been applied. To make sure that you select all segments of a given liner, it is advisable to use a selection window, so that you do not accidentally miss portions of a liner when you are assigning properties and staging.
