Add Dynamic Boundary Conditions
Dynamic boundary conditions can be applied to boundaries, vertices or nodes using the Set Dynamic Boundary conditions option.
- Select the Dynamic workflow tab.
- Select Face Selection as the Selection Mode.
- Select the face(s) on which to apply the load.
- Select the Add Dynamic Boundary Conditions option from the toolbar or the Dynamic menu. You will see the Add Dynamic BC dialog.
- Select a Dynamic Property (i.e. a dynamic boundary condition that you have already defined in the Dynamic BC Properties dialog). Select the pencil icon to open the Dynamic BC Properties dialog and add or edit a dynamic boundary condition. The Dynamic Property Type can be any of the following options:
- None (i.e. remove boundary condition)
- Absorb
- Transmit
- Damper (enter damper values in the X and Y directions)
- Nodal Mass (enter a mass value)
- Hydro Mass
- In terms of Staging, you can choose the Install stage, and (optional) Remove Stage for the dynamic load function.
- Select OK in the Add Dynamic BC dialog.
- The boundary condition will be applied to the selected boundaries as indicated by the display of an orange highlight on the boundary.
Display of Dynamic Boundary Conditions
Dynamic Boundary Conditions are displayed as orange highlight on the applied boundaries, and they are only displayed if:
- The Dynamic workflow tab is selected.
- The dynamic boundary condition is applied at the stage currently being viewed.
