Dynamic Analysis Overview
In RS3, you can perform true dynamic analysis of geotechnical structures due to earthquake loading or other dynamically applied loading. To begin dynamic modeling you must first do the following:
- Select the Dynamic Analysis checkbox in Project Settings and enter the dynamic setup parameters.
- Enter the number of stages and stage times for dynamic analysis on the Stages page of the Project Settings dialog.
After enabling the Dynamic Analysis, you can define and apply the dynamic loading and boundary conditions using the following options:
- Add Dynamic Load
- Define Dynamic Load
- Add Dynamic Boundary Conditions
- Define Dynamic Boundary Conditions
- Edit or Delete Dynamic Loads and Boundary Conditions
To obtain dynamic analysis results at specific locations, you can define time queries using the Time Query option.
To calculate the natural frequencies of a system, you can use the Natural Frequencies option.
To filter dynamic load functions for a given frequency range, you can use the Power Spectrum option.
