Contour Legend Overview

The primary means of data interpretation after a RS3 analysis, is the viewing of data contours directly on the model.

The Legend pane provides contour choices and contour information. To use it:

  1. After compute, select the Results workflow tab b_results workflow tab
  2. The Legend pane should display on the right side of your screen, as shown below. As labelled, four major features are provided:
    1. Result Type
    2. Data Contour
    3. Contour Options
    4. Toggle Density Histogram

  4. To display the contour results, you can use the following features:
    • Contour Geometry b_contour geometry
      • Show results on selected geometry
    • Show Exterior Contour b_exterior contour
      • Show results around the exterior
    • Show Excavation Contour b_excavation contour
      • Show results around excavations
    • Show Data on Plane (XZ, XY, YZ) b_XZ contour plane
      • Create an XZ / XY / YZ contour plane

    A new entity will be created under the Visibility Tree.

  5. Other from abovementioned options, RS3 offers a wide range of options for viewing and displaying the results. Browse the options under the Interpret menu.

All contour results can be plotted and exported. Select the Graph Data b_graph data option or the Graph Data (Multiple Panes) b_graph multi panes option from the Interpret menu, the selected Data Contour of the Result Type will be plotted in a new tab. To further customize the chart, see the Chart Options topic for details.
