Figures

In RSLog, users can generate report figures showing the locations of all projects and test holes on the map. These figures will be created in PDF format and can be easily incorporated into any report.

To access this page:

Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Reporting > Figures.

The following types of figures can be generated in RSLog:

  • Project Location Map (site map)
  • Test Holes Location Map
  • Cross Section Figure
  • Photo Report
  • Project Summary Report

Project Location Map

This page features a map showing the Location of Project. You can zoom or move the map, or toggle between Map and Satellite views to your desired setting.

Note: To specify the location of a project, you will need to enter a Project Location by entering the civic address or clicking on the map, on the Project definition page.

To generate a project map figure:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Reporting > Figures > Project Location.
  2. Select a report template from the Figure Template drop-down menu. To customize the selected template, click the edit icon next to the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the Title of the figure and click Generate Project Map button.

To export the map, click on the Export button located above the map. Export to the following formats is available: Image (PNG), Google Earth (KML), GeoJSON and GPX.

Test Holes Location Map

This page features a map showing the Location of Test Holes of the current Active Project. Adjust the map to the desired settings.

Note: The location of test holes are defined in General tab of the Test Hole page, where user can enter the coordinates or specify the test hole location on the map.

To generate a test hole map figure:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Reporting > Figures > Test Holes Location.
  2. Select a report template from the Figure Template drop-down menu. To customize the selected template, click the edit icon next to the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the Title of the figure and click Generate Test Holes Map button.

To export the map, click on the Export button located above the map. Export to the following formats is available: Image (PNG), Google Earth (KML), GeoJSON and GPX.

Cross Sections

This page allows you to create a report by incorporating the design of selected cross-section.

To generate a cross section figure:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Reporting > Figures > Cross Sections.
  2. Select the cross section from the drop-down menu. To customize it, click the edit icon next to the drop-down menu.
  3. Select the report template from the Figure Template drop-down menu. To customize the selected template, click the edit icon next to the drop-down menu.
  4. Enter the Title of the figure and click Open Cross Section Figure button.

To download the cross-section design image, click on the Download button. This will download the design in PNG format.

Photo Report

Use this feature to create a PDF album of your project photos.

To generate a photo report figure:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Reporting > Figures > Photo Report.
  2. Select the subject photos from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select how many photos you would like to show on each page.
  4. On each page, the photos are separated with lines. If you don't want to draw these lines, set the line color to white.
  5. Select if you would like to display photo titles above or below each photo.
  6. From the Figure Template drop-down menu select the template you would like to use for the photos report. To customize the selected template, click the edit icon next to the drop-down menu.
  7. Enter the Title of the figure and click Generate Photo Report.

The photo report is designed to serve all boreholes of a project. If you would like to add the borehole name to your photo report:

  • Add the borehole name to the Figure Title and generate separate photo reports for each borehole, or
  • Add the borehole names in the Photo Title.

Project Summary Report

This feature generates a report (Excel or PDF) summarizing the boreholes data for the active project.

To generate a project summary report figure:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Reporting > Project Summary.
  2. Select the type of report (Microsoft Excel or Adobe PDF):
    1. For Excel Report: the report will be generated with different worksheets depending on the components selected by user. For example Test Holes worksheet will include a list of boreholes, and Samples worksheet will include the list of all samples.
    2. For PDF Report: select the report template and report title, then choose font style. In the PDF report, each component selected will be added as a separate table.
  3. Select various components (boreholes, samples, lab tests, etc.) that should be included in the report:
    1. Select the checkbox beside the component,
    2. Click on the list on the right end of the checkbox to select columns that should be included in the report
  4. Click Generate Report.
