Hatch Design
On the Hatch Design tab, user can specify the fore color, back color, and default description of each hatch pattern (graphic legend) used in the test hole logs.
To adjust the default Hatch Design settings:
- Go to the left-hand navigation menu and select Settings page,
- Click Hatch Design tab,
- Make desired changes as necessary,
- Click Save (some tabs don't have a Save button as everything will be saved automatically).
Editing Hatch Colors
- Select the hatch category (USCS, AASHTO, etc.),
- For each hatch select the fore color and back color by clicking on the color picker. Colors could be selected from the pre-defined colors (left) or from a custom color pallet (right),
- To reset the fore color of all hatches to black in the table click on the icon in the header of the Fore Color column.
- To reset the back color of all hatches to white in the table click on the icon in the header of the Back Color column.
Exporting a Legend
Using the Export button located at the top-left of each table user can generate an Excel file with a list of all hatch patterns including their image and description text. This Excel file can then be designed as a legend to accompany the test hole logs.
User-Defined Hatch Patterns
The library of RSLog built-in hatch patterns could be expanded by uploading hatch pattern tile images:
- Go to Settings page > Hatch Design tab > User-Defined tab,
- To upload a new hatch pattern, click + New button from the toolbar at the top of table,
- In the new dialog box, enter hatch pattern name and material description. Then click Browse to select the image file (*.PNG) from your computer and upload,
- Select the fore color and back color for the new hatch pattern,
- Select the scale; This determines how the hatch pattern is going to be displayed on borehole logs.
We recommend that your hatch image is designed as a repeatable tile. Please use minimum resolution of 512 pixels width for best output.
