Multipliers
The Multipliers tab is used to define the following modification factors:
- p-y multipliers
- t-z multipliers
- Q-z multipliers
P-Y MULTIPLIERS
p-y multipliers are used to account for pile groups, battered piles, scale effects, installation effects, error adjustment, and more.
- p- multipliers are usually < 1 or = 1
- y- multipliers are usually = 1
p-y multiplier profiles can be created, edited, and deleted in the Edit p-y Multipliers dialog, accessed by clicking on the icon. Profiles are assigned to a pile by selecting it from the dropdown.
T-Z AND Q-Z MULTIPLIERS
t-z and Q-z factors are typically used to match empirical data when there are test conditions, such as energy loss, that the conventional soil models do not consider.
- t- multipliers are multiples applied to the unit skin friction at each depth
- Q- multipliers are multiples for the end bearing resistance at the pile toe
- z- multipliers are multiples applied to the soil displacements for each point on the t-z or Q-z curve
t-z multiplier profiles can be created, edited, and deleted in the Edit t-z Multipliers dialog, accessed by clicking on the icon. Profiles are assigned to a pile by selecting it from the dropdown.
