Prestressed Concrete
The prestressed concrete type can be used with either the Circle or Rectangle cross-section.
Within the Define Pile Section Properties dialog only the outer cross-section dimensions and concrete compressive strength are defined. The bulk of the reinforced concrete section is defined in the Concrete Designer, which has two tabs:
- Reinforcement - patterns of reinforcing bars can be added, modified, deleted, and assigned to piles
- Casing/Core
It is the user's responsibility to check whether or not a defined section is compliant with any relevant codes. These checks are NOT performed in RSPile.
REINFORCEMENT PATTERN OPTIONS
The following input parameters are required:
- Strand Type - the standard prestressing strand types are available.
- Strand Size - standard sizes are available.

- Prestressing Properties
BUNDLED BARS
Bundled bars can be specified using the Bundled Bars checkbox.
The bundled bars option just multiplies the rebar area by the number of bars specified as a bundle.
PRESTRESSING PROPERTIES
The following material properties are required:
- Force Before Losses
- Fraction of Loss
