Discretization

For Carrying Capacity analysis (Bored or Driven), RSPile generates several compute files representing different increments of the pile for which the capacity is computed. These pile increments are generated based on the Pile Discretization parameters inputted. To change the Pile Discretization parameters, you can do the following:

1. Go to Project Settings > Advanced. The program defaults should be as follows:
   
   
2. If you have different parameters shown in your dialog, you can click on Defaults and restore the original program values.
3. Change the Pile Discretization from Auto to Custom
4. Enter Pile Depth Increment (m) = 5
5. Leave the Pile Segments = 200

The Pile Depth Increment controls the number of depths at which the capacity is to be calculated while the number of Pile Segments is the number of segments used to discretize the entire pile length. For example using a Pile Depth Increment of 5m for Tutorial: Telescopic Drilled Pier with Bell results in the discretization shown below:
