Assign Soil Properties
Use this dialog to assign soil properties to the various regions of soil surrounding a wall segment. Depending on the type of wall, a different number of soil regions may be relevant.
Segmental walls
- Backfill soil
- Backslope soil (toggleable)
- Reinforced soil
- Foundation soil
- Leveling pad
- Front face soil
Other walls
- Backfill soil
- Foundation soil
- Leveling pad
- Front face soil
The locations of these regions are displayed in the dialog as a guide, and may or may not necessarily match the definitions in your model.
You can perform the assignment by clicking on the properties in the list on the left side of the dialog and then clicking on the respective regions in which you wish to apply that property.
Use different properties for backslope and reinforced region
The backslope soil region can be turned ON/OFF via this checkbox. If it is ON, then the soil directly above the reinforced soil can have separate properties from the rest of the reinforced region.
Front face soil
The soil in the front face region affects the results if the wall segment considers passive resistance (via the Front face topography dialog).
Apply soil assignments to
- All segments in the current wall
- Current segment only (Section 1)
Use this to apply the current setting to either all wall segments in the current wall or the currently selected segment.
