Grid

The Grid option allows you to display a grid of points or lines in the Plan View. If the Snap option is enabled, the grid points can be "snapped" to. You may find this useful when adding loads, queries, etc. The grid can also help you to estimate distances, and provide a sense of scale for the model in the Plan View.

To turn the grid on or off:

  • Click on the GRID button on the Status Bar, OR
  • Select the F7 function key, OR
  • Toggle the Show Grid checkbox in the Grid Options dialog (see below)

Grid Options

Grid settings (Grid Style, Spacing, and Colour) can be changed in the Grid Options dialog. The Grid Options can be accessed in two ways:

  • Select the Grid option from the View menu, OR
  • Right-click on the GRID button on the Status Bar
The grid will eventually "disappear" if you keep zooming "out" in the Plan View. This prevents the grid from becoming so dense that it hides the model.
