Printing and Page Setup
To print the current view, click on the Print toolbar button, or select Print from the File menu. This opens the Print dialog.
In the Print dialog you can select the printer you would like to print on, make changes to the print layout (portrait or landscape orientation), or make paper/quality selections.
To print preview pages select Print Preview from the File menu, or the Print Preview toolbar button. In Print Preview mode, you can make changes to print output using the Page Setup button. You can also zoom into the previewed page. By clicking on the Print button in Print Preview mode, you can open the Print dialog.
To change the layout of a print document, select Page Setup from the File menu. You can also change the layout by selecting the Page Setup button while in Print Preview. As well, you may alter document layouts by choosing the Properties button in the Print dialog.
Selecting Page Setup opens the Page Setup dialog. In the Page Setup dialog, you can completely customize the print layout, as described below.
In any tab, selecting Page Layouts reveals the Page Layout drop-down. Here you can select which view you want the layout to apply to, or you can choose to apply the layout to all views.
In the General tab, you can choose between Portrait and Landscape orientations. Selecting Printer Setup opens the Print Setup dialog, where you can further alter the document layout by opening the Properties dialog.
Margins can also be defined in the General tab. Clicking Reset to Defaults resets the default margin values.
Header
Both the header and footer can be customized with your company logo and other information. You can choose to customize any of the pre-defined block designs, or you can do your own block design. To customize one of the pre-defined block designs, select Customize Designs > Edit. To create your own design, select Customize Designs > New. Note that you can also Import and Export these designs.
When you select either New or Edit in Customize Designs, the Edit Head Block will appear.
- In the General tab, you set the title block name and size.
- In the Cell Layout tab, you can define the number of cells (areas where different content will be located).
- Cell border styles are defined in the Cell Borders tab.
- Cell text is added and edited in the Text tab.
- Re-size cells by dragging the border between them in the Resize Cells tab.
- The image displayed in each cell is modified in the Images tab.
All tabs in the Edit Header Block dialog come with Undo/Redo buttons.
Footer
Footer customizing is done in the same way as header customizing. Select Customize Designs, and New or Edit to open the Edit Footer Block dialog. The tabs in this dialog are the same as in the Edit Header Block dialog.
Other
In the Other tab, you have the option to "Print Borders Around Drawing Objects", and to change the Info Viewer Print options.
You can also set how the legend is displayed.
