Soil Groundwater Properties

The Soil Groundwater Properties dialog is where assigning and staging of piezometric lines/water grids/PWP functions is defined.

You can specify different groundwater properties for different materials.

To assign a grid or piezo line to a material for all stages of an analysis:

  1. Select Soil Groundwater Properties soil groundwater properties icon from the Groundwater tab.
  2. Select the material type you want to assign groundwater conditions to.
  3. Select the grid/piezo line from the Grid/Piezo to use the drop-down menu. (Select Apply To All if you want to assign the same grid/piezo to all the materials in the model.)
  4. Click OK to close the dialog.

To assign a grid or piezo line to a material for specific stages in an analysis:

  1. Select Soil Groundwater Properties soil groundwater properties icon from the Groundwater tab.
  2. Select the material type you want to assign groundwater conditions to.
  3. Click on the Stage Grids/Piezos checkbox.
  4. Select the appropriate groundwater conditions for each stage from the dropdown menus that appear. (Select Apply To All if you want to assign the same conditions to all the materials in the model).
  5. Click OK to close the dialog.
  • The Show only used properties checkbox may be useful.
  • If you add a new material type in the Soil Properties dialog after you have specified the groundwater conditions, you need to go back into the Soil Groundwater Properties dialog and specify the groundwater conditions for the new material. By default, any new material is NOT assigned to any existing piezo lines or groundwater grids.
