Import Surface Point Cloud

The Import Surface Point Cloud feature allows users to generate non-horizontal ground surfaces by importing a spreadsheet (*.xls) or comma-separated values (*.csv) file containing the X, Y and Z coordinates of a point cloud. Using the existing interpolation methods, Settle3 will construct the ground surface from the imported points along with any boreholes present in the model.

To import surface point cloud:

  1. Select File > Import > Import Surface Point Cloud Import Surface Point Cloud or Soils > Import Surface Point Cloud Import Surface Point Cloud
This feature is only available when, in the Project Setting > Soil Profile tab, the Layer Options is set to Non Horizontal Layers and the Surface data source is set to Point Cloud.

For full details on this feature, see the Soil Profiles: Import Surface Point Cloud help topic.
