Copy Loads
The Copy Load option can be used to create copies of loads or excavations.
To use Copy Load:
- Select Loads > Copy
- In the Plan View, use the mouse to select the loads/excavations you would like to copy.
- When you are finished selecting, press Enter or right-click and select Done Selection.
- You will then be prompted to enter two points defining the location of the copied load(s), relative to the original load(s). You can enter the points graphically with the mouse, or with the keyboard in the prompt line (see notes for additional information).
- After the second point is entered, all of the loads/excavations selected in Step 2 will be copied to the new location, according to the vector defined by the two points.
- The two points defining the copy location can be anywhere in the x,y plane, only their relative positions are important.
- You can define a relative location by typing the "@" symbol in the prompt line followed by the relative x and y displacement (Step 4). For example, type @50 -20 followed by Enter to create a copy of a load 50 units to the right and 20 units down.
- You can also define a relative location by entering 0,0 as the base point in the prompt line (Step 4), and the relative distance as the second point. For example, if you wanted a copy of an excavation 20 meters to the left of the original excavation, enter 0,0 as the base point, and -20,0 as the second point.
Right-Click Shortcut
Copy Load is also available as a right-click option for individual loads/excavations:
- In the Plan View, click the right mouse button on a load or excavation, and the boundary will be "selected".
- A popup menu will appear, from which you can select the Copy option.
- Select Copy and complete steps 4 and 5 described above.
