CPT Analysis
In the CPT Analysis tab, the global CPT parameters are defined:
- CPT Classification type (Robertson 1986, Robertson 1990, Schneider 2008 options are available)
- Atmospheric Pressure
- Net Area Ratio
- Cone Factor
- Filter Data parameters
Filter Data
The Bandwidth Thickness and Filter Constant can be defined. The filtering procedure is outlined in the CPT Theory Manual.
Units
The following unit convention is used for the input properties parameters for CPT interpretation calculations in Settle3. Imperial input data is converted to SI units in the engine.
Unit System | Depth | qc | fs | u2 |
SI | m | MPa | kPa | kPa |
Imperial | ft | tsf | tsf | psi |
The unit convention for the output results is summarized below.
Parameter | Metric Unit System | Imperial Unit System |
Depth | m | ft |
Cone resistance, qc | MPa | tsf |
Sleeve resistance, fs | kPa | tsf |
Corrected cone resistance, qt | MPa | tsf |
Gamma | kN/m3 | pcf |
Total overburden stress | kPa | tsf |
Equilibrium pore pressure | kPa | tsf |
Effective overburden stress | kPa | tsf |
Shear wave velocity | m/s | ft/s |
Hydraulic conductivity | m/s | ft/s |
Constrained modulus | kPa | tsf |
Young’s modulus | kPa | tsf |
Maximum shear modulus | kPa | tsf |
Undrained shear strength | kPa | tsf |
