Reference Stage
For a multi-stage model, by default, the analysis results displayed at each stage are calculated with respect to the initial state of the model (e.g. time = zero).
Defining a Reference Stage allows you to view results with respect to any stage of the model (e.g. the differential settlement between two stages).
To define the Reference Stage:
- Select the Reference Stage option from the View tab, and choose the Reference Stage, OR
- Right-click on the desired Stage Tab, and select Set as Reference Stage from the popup menu
When a Reference Stage is defined, the results displayed at each stage (i.e. settlement, stress) are calculated with respect to the Reference Stage (i.e. the Reference Stage results are subtracted from the current stage results). To indicate the reference stage, the letter [R] is displayed in the Stage Tab of the reference stage, as shown in the following figure.
Reset Reference Stage
To reset the default reference state (i.e. no reference stage):
- Select Reference Stage from the View tab and choose Reference Stage = None, OR
- Right-click on any Stage Tab and select Reset Reference Stage from the popup menu
