Add Anisotropic Surface
The Add Anisotropic Surface option allows you to create an Anisotropic Surface by selecting existing geometry.
To use Add Anisotropic Surface:
- Select Faces Selection as the Selection Mode to add geometry faces to generate the anisotropic surface. Select Entity Selection as the Selection Mode to add entire surface geometry to generate the anisotropic surface. If you select multiple surfaces or faces that share edges, the program will attempt to merge the geometry to form the anisotropic surface.
- Select the Add Anisotropic Surface option from the Anisotropic Surfaces sub-menu in the Materials menu.
- In the Add Anisotropic Surface dialog, you can customize the Name and Color of the surface.
- Select OK to generate the Anisotropic Surface.
Assign Anisotropic Surface
After an Anisotropic Surface is created, in order to use it in the analysis it must be assigned to a material using the Generalized Anisotropic strength type. See the Assign Anisotropic Surface topic.
