Opening a File

SWedge files have a *.swd7 filename extension. Older version files have a *.swd extension.

To open an existing SWedge file, click on the Open toolbar button, or select File > Open from the menu.

Whenever a SWedge file is opened, the analysis is automatically run on the data.

  • If the Analysis Type is set to DETERMINISTIC, you will not notice the analysis, since the calculation is instantaneous.
  • If the Analysis Type is set to PROBABILISTIC, you may notice that it takes a few seconds to run the analysis, depending on the Number of Samples. The progress of the analysis is indicated in the status bar.

Running the analysis each time a file is opened ensures that results can be immediately viewed. The user does not need to select Compute unless the Input Data is changed.
