Input Data Overview
SWedge computes the factor of safety for the sliding of a wedge-formed in a rock slope by:
- The slope plane,
- The upper slope (bench) plane,
- Two joint planes,
- A basal failure plane (optional), and
- A tension crack (optional).
At an early stage in the solution process, SWedge checks if the geometry of a model is valid, before proceeding to calculate a Safety Factor or Probability of Failure for a sliding wedge.
To enter model parameters, select the Input Data toolbar button or Analysis > Input Data from the menu. This opens the Input Data dialog. This dialog allows you to define the following model input parameters:
Slope Angle, Slope Height, Unit Weight
Upper Face Angle, Bench Width Analysis (optional)
