Overhanging Slope

SWedge can analyze slopes where the crest of the slope overhangs the base. To analyze an overhanging slope:

  1. Select the Overhanging check box in the Input Data dialog.
  2. Enter appropriate Dip and Dip Directions of the Slope Face and Upper Face planes.

Overhanging Slope

In all other respects, the analysis of an overhanging slope is essentially the same as a regular (non-overhanging) slope. SWedge will determine if a wedge can be formed, calculate the safety factor and sliding planes, etc.

To analyze an overhanging slope you MUST select the Overhanging check box in the Input Data dialog, so that SWedgewill correctly interpret your slope plane orientation input.
