Input Data Overview
The Input Data option is the primary data input dialog in UnWedge. The dialog contains three tabs which allow you to define General input data (e.g., Tunnel Axis Orientation), Joint Orientations and Joint Properties.
Input Data is available on the toolbar, the Analysis menu or the right-click menu (on most views).
General
The General tab of the Input Data dialog allows you to enter the following input data:
- Tunnel Axis Orientation
- Tunnel Length
- Design Factor of Safety
- Unit Weight
- Seismic Force
- Minimum Wedge Size
Joint Orientations
The Joint Orientations tab of the Input Data dialog allows you to define Joint Orientations. See the Joint Orientations topic for details.
Joint Properties
The Joint Properties tab of the Input Data dialog allows you to define Joint Properties. See the Joint Properties topic for details.
TIP: The Input Data dialog can be left open while performing other tasks. It can be minimized or maximized by double-clicking on the title bar of the dialog or selecting the up/down arrow in the upper right corner of the dialog. This allows you greater flexibility for interactive editing of your model parameters. The Apply button in the dialogue allows you to quickly re-calculate and view results without closing the dialog.
Probabilistic Input Data
If you are performing a Probabilistic Analysis (as selected in the General tab of the Project Settings dialog), then you must enter the statistical input data after entering the above input data. To carry out a Probabilistic Analysis with UnWedge, at least one input parameter must be defined as a random variable. The Probabilistic Input Data options are found in the Statistics menu. Here, you can enter Probabilistic Joint Orientation data and Probabilistic Joint Property data.
