Compute All Joint Combinations (Probabilistic)
The Compute All Joint Combinations option allows the user to look at all Joint Combinations at once. It is only available in a Probabilistic Analysis.
To access this option:
- Select Input Data from the toolbar or the Analysis menu.
The Input Data dialog will appear. - Select the Joint Orientations tab.
- At the bottom of the dialog, select the Compute All Joint Combinations (Probabilistic) checkbox.
- Select OK.
Note that the number of samples entered in the Project Settings dialog is the number of samples used for each combination. For example, if 1000 samples are used, for Joint Combination 1, 1000 wedge orientations are computed, and the Maximum Support Pressure from all these samples is studied in the Probability View. Similarly, for Joint Combination 2, 1000 samples are computed, and the Maximum Support Pressure from all these samples can be studied in the Probability View. Therefore, if for example there are four different combinations of joints, UnWedge will divide the number of samples entered in the Project Settings dialog by four. Therefore for Joint Combination 1, 1000/4 = 250 samples will be computed. Similarly, 250 samples will be computed for Joint Combination 2, and so on. The results in the Probability View will have incorporated the values from all the possible combinations.
