RocFall Analysis Overview
When performing a typical RocFall analysis, it is usually a good idea to proceed through the program following the menus from left to right. It is also recommended that you define your slope geometry completely before proceeding to any of the other steps.
During a typical RocFall analysis you should:
- Define slope geometry
- Define slope materials
- Assign slope materials
- Add seeders
- Add barriers
- Add berms
- Add data collectors
- View rockfall results
- Graph results
Unfortunately, some parameters that you enter may be poorly known (e.g., Coefficients of Restitution), yet the analysis will be very sensitive to the value of these parameters. One way to limit the effect of this sensitivity is to increase the standard deviations of these parameters until you are reasonably certain the samples generated will fall within your range of certainty.
