Rectangle
The Rectangle option allows you to add a rectangle or a square anywhere on a view.
To add a Rectangle or Square:
- Select Rectangle from the Tools menu, or from the toolbar.
- Enter the first corner graphically with the mouse, or enter x,y coordinates in the prompt line.
- As you move the mouse, a rectangle will be drawn between the point entered in step 2, and the current cursor location.
- Enter the second corner graphically with the mouse, or enter x,y coordinates in the prompt line, and the Rectangle or Square will be added to the view.
NOTE: To draw a SQUARE, hold the Shift key while you are moving the mouse.
Tips:
- Double-click on the Rectangle to bring up the Format Tool dialog. In this dialog you can edit the Rectangle appearance. The color, weight, and style of the Rectangle outline line can all be changed. You can also choose not to have an outline for the Rectangle. Hatch and Fill patterns and colors can also be selected in the Format Tools dialog.
- Right-click on the Rectangle to change the appearance of the Rectangle in the view (i.e. Bring to Front, Send to Back, etc.). You can also edit the coordinates.
