Importing Data
You can use the Import DXF option to import a rock slope from a DXF file. You can only import a slope into a blank RocFall model.
To import a rock slope from a DXF file:
- Select Import DXF from the Import sub-menu of the File menu.
- Select the DXF file that you want to import.
The LINE/PLINE entity (in the DXF file) you want to use as the slope should be the only entity in the DXF file.
An example DXF (bench.DXF) is provided for you in the Examples subdirectory of your RocFall install folder. You can load up this file for firsthand experience on how to import DXF files.
NOTES:
- If you want to combine points from a DXF file with points you enter in the program, you must read the DXF file first and then enter the additional points into the program.
- If the geometry that you are importing does not satisfy the conditions outlined in RocFall Slope Overview, the slope will not be imported.
Mining Coordinates
- If the DXF you are importing is set up in mining coordinates, once you have imported, you may need to translate all the coordinates back to the origin in order for the analysis to run properly.
- If the rotation of your slope is off, you will need to fix it in another program before you import it into RocFall.
