Calculating Crest Loss
The Crest Loss feature creates a new slope segment based on the user-defined upslope and downslope segment losses.
When Crest Loss (or any statistical vertex variation) is assigned, each rockfall path has its own geometry. If no statistical distribution is assigned, the geometry is the same for each rockfall path. If no statistical distribution is assigned, you are essentially editing the slope by placing new vertices at distances d1 and d2 (along the slope segment) away from the original vertex location.
Crest Loss can be visualized in Results Mode. In order to visualize Crest Loss, you need to select Show Statistical Slope Variation (Results Mode) in Display Options. To view the slope geometry for an individual rock path, use the filter or view an animation of that rock path.
