Display Options
The Display Options dialog allows the user to customize many different display options on the model. The Display Options are organized into three categories:
- General
- Slope Stability
- Groundwater (only applicable if your model includes a finite element groundwater analysis)
The general features of the Display Options dialog are discussed below, followed by a description of each Display Option.
Display Options Dialog
The Display Options dialog works a little differently than a regular dialog. It is known as a "roll-up" dialog, and can be left up on the screen while performing other tasks.
Notes:
- Make your selections using the checkboxes. Changes will immediately be applied when a checkbox is selected.
- The "arrow" button 5 in the upper right corner can be used to "roll-up" 5 or "roll-down" 6 the dialog, without closing it. This allows the user to minimize/maximize the dialog, to keep it out of the way when not needed.
- The dialog can also be minimized or maximized, by double-clicking the left mouse button on the title bar of the dialog.
- Display Options operates on a PER VIEW basis, so that if multiple views are open, each view can have its own set of Display Options applied. When working with multiple views, the user can apply different options to different views, without closing the dialog.
- The Defaults button can be used to save the current Display Options as the new program defaults or to restore the original program default Display Options.
Display Options is available in the View menu and the default right-click menu.
The following Display Options are available:
Boundaries
The Boundaries options will toggle the display of the External Boundary, Material Boundaries, Water Table, Piezometric Lines, or Tension Crack.
Vertices
The Vertices option will toggle the display of the vertices which define the geometry of the model boundaries. Vertices are indicated by small cross markers.
Material Colours
The Material Colours option will toggle the display of Material Colours. When turned OFF, all material zones will appear white.
Grid
The Grid option will toggle the display of slip center grids (i.e. the box around the edge of a grid). To toggle the display of slip centers within grids, use the Grid Points option.
Grid Points
The Grid Points option toggles the display of the grid points within slip center grids.
SF at all Grid Points
This option will toggle the minimum safety factor values at the grid points in a slip center grid. NOTE: when displayed, the numbers will usually overlap. Use the Zoom options to zoom in so that the numbers are readable.
Invalid SF at Grid Points
This will toggle the display of error codes at grid points if safety factors could not be calculated. The definition of the error codes can be found in the Summary of Error Codes topic.
Search Objects
This option will toggle the display of the following Search Objects: Focus Window, Line or Point objects used in a circular surface search. Block Window, Line or Point object used in a Block Search (non-circular surfaces).
Vertical Segments
This option will toggle the display of the Vertical Segments which are displayed for slip surfaces which intersect Tension Crack zones or Ponded Water. If you do not want these segments to be displayed, then turn this option OFF.
Lines to Center
This option will toggle the display of the radial lines which are drawn between a slip center and the slip surface endpoints, for the Global Minimum slip surface, and for Queries.
Slope Limits
This will toggle the display of the Slope Limits symbols.
Scale Display Items
If this checkbox is selected, then view items such as the Slope Limits symbols will scale in size, according to the zooming of the view. If this checkbox is NOT selected, then view items will remain the same size on the screen, regardless of the zoom.
Loading
The Anchors option and the Loads option can be used to show or hide the display of Anchors, or the arrows used to represent Loads.
Draw in Front of Surfaces
These options can be used to make sure that Anchors and Loads, or Boundaries, are displayed in front of the slip surface display, or behind the slip surface display.
Water Pressure Grid Values
If a Water Pressure Grid is used to define pore pressure, the values (total head, pressure head or pore pressure) at the grid points can be displayed with the Values option. NOTE: when displayed, the numbers will usually overlap. Use the Zoom options to zoom in so that the numbers are readable.
Water Pressure Grid Symbols
If a Water Pressure Grid is used to define pore pressure, the Symbols option toggles the display of the triangular symbols used to represent each Water Pressure Grid point.
Slice Numbers
Toggles the display of Slice Numbers for slip surface Queries.
Slice Boundaries
Toggles the display of Slice Boundaries for slip surface Queries.
Fill
Toggles the Fill Colour within the sliding mass for slip surface Queries. The Fill Colour can be customized.
Hatch
Toggles the Hatch Pattern within the sliding mass for slip surface Queries. The Hatch Pattern can be customized.
The following Groundwater display options are available in the Display Options dialog:
Boundary Conditions
The Boundary Conditions options will toggle the display of the hydraulic boundary condition symbols.
Discharge Sections
The Discharge Sections options will allow users to adjust the display of the labels as well as the colour, scale factor and offset of the arrows indicating discharge sections.
Discretizations
The Discretizations option will display the finite element discretization along the model boundaries. Small red crosses will appear at each node location along the boundaries.
Copy Modeller Tools On Open
If checked, this option will automatically copy any tools defined in Modeler into Interpret. This can be saved as the default so that it is automatically done for other models.
Bolt Force Arrows
The Bolt Force Arrows options will allow users to adjust the display of the arrows indicating the bolt force, such as the colour and scale factor.
