Distributed Loads

Distributed loads (i.e. tractions) can be applied to a Slide2 model with the Add Distributed Load option. Distributed loads represent infinite strip loads, with units of FORCE/AREA, when considering the out-of-plane dimension. Distributed loads can be uniform, or linearly varying between two points.

Line Loads

Line loads can be applied to a Slide2 model with the Add Line Load option. Line loads represent concentrated forces, with units of FORCE / LENGTH, when considering the out-of-plane dimension.

Seismic Load

Horizontal or vertical seismic loading due to earthquakes can be accounted for by entering appropriate seismic coefficients in the Seismic Load dialog.
