SLIDE 3.0 Support Conversion
In Slide2 3.0, a very simple support model was used. If a Slide2 3.0 model with support, is read into Slide2 4.0 (or later versions), the Slide2 3.0 support will be automatically converted to the Slide2 4.0 support types, as follows:
Proportional Loading Method
If the support Loading Method = Proportional, in a Slide2 3.0 model, the support will automatically be converted to the Grouted Tieback model, in Slide2 4.0. The parameters will be converted as follows:
Slide2 4.0 | Slide2 3.0 |
Support Type = Grouted Tieback | Loading Method = Proportional |
Tensile Capacity | Maximum Load |
Bond Strength | Maximum Load / Bonded Length |
Bonded Length | Bonded Length |
Plate Capacity | Maximum Load |
Out-of Plane Spacing = 1 | (Maximum Load already normalized) |
Force Application = Active | (Force Application = Active) |
Constant Loading Method
If the support Loading Method = Constant, in a Slide2 3.0 model, the support will automatically be converted to the End Anchored model, in Slide2 4.0. The parameters will be converted as follows:
Slide2 4.0 | Slide2 3.0 |
Support Type = End Anchored | Loading Method = Constant |
Anchor Capacity | Maximum Load |
Out-of Plane Spacing = 1 | (Maximum Load already normalized) |
Force Application = Active | (Force Application = Active) |
In addition, the Bolt Length in Slide2 4.0 will be automatically converted to the (Original Bolt Length – Bonded Length) from Slide2 3.0. Although the new bolt length will be shorter (if the original Bonded Length was greater than zero), the effect on the model will be exactly the same as in Slide2 3.0.
