Settlement Analysis

Analyze immediate settlement, primary consolidation, and secondary settlement of embankments, foundations, and surface loads. You can create soil profiles efficiently using surface point cloud import, use RSLog and CPT boreholes for soil classification, or use the section creator feature to define your soil profile.

Ground Improvement

Get more flexibility over ground improvement methods such as soil replacement, vibro-compaction, or stone columns, with flexibility in staging and depth. You can conduct sensitivity analysis for settlement with adjustable properties such as stiffness, depth, and spacing.

CPT and Liquefaction Analysis

Perform CPT and liquefaction analysis. CPT analysis offers 29 different parameter results, with options to simulate CPT at any location of interest. Empirical settlement can be analyzed using CPT points. Liquefaction analysis uses standard penetration test (SPT), cone penetration test (CPT), or shear wave velocity (VST) data and provides triggering and post-triggering methods.

Settle3 Across Applications

  • Embankments
  • Foundations
  • Ground Improvement

Embankments

Model your embankments with full flexibility, adding cross sections, multiple layers, and user-defined staging sequences. Define the shape in 2D and extrude in 3D with user-defined end angles.

Settle3 for Embankments

Foundations

Apply foundations as loads with flexible or rigid footing. Define various shapes, loads per vertices and staging sequences. You can also import multiple loads from structural software programs such as SAFE.

Settle3 for Foundations

Ground Improvement

Apply ground improvement regions with respect to different loading conditions. Use soil replacement, vibro-compaction, or stone columns for foundation design. Wick drains and stone column drainage options accelerate consolidations in your analysis.

Settle3 Seamlessly Integrates With

  • RSLog

+

Import borehole data from RSLog directly into Settle3 to quickly define your soil layers and material properties, without manually inputting data. You can also import field test data, like SPT blow counts, directly from RSLog into your Settle3 project.

The Latest Features

  • Import Surface Point Cloud

Model complex terrains by importing point cloud data, like LiDAR, and defining the boreholes with soil layers for enhanced geotechnical analysis. Choose from various interpolation methods and adjust the number of grid surface points for precise modelling.

  • CPT Simulation and Empirical Settlement with CPT Points

Simulate any missing CPT points or perform empirical settlement analysis using just the CPT points with the new CPT simulation / empirical settlement with CPT points feature. With the given CPT points, Settle3 used Gaussian process regression (enhanced by non-lattice sparse Bayesian learning algorithm) to predict missing CPT points at any location.

  • Non-Horizontal Surface Loading

Define loads with different elevations at the vertices or geometry that needs to be placed on top of non-horizontal ground surfaces. Simulate different stress distributions along different depth of loads applied for different sections and apply variable loading for the analysis of staged construction with variations in the geometry’s depth/elevation.
